Stillcount

Stillcount, a calm day counter for the habits you’re stopping

Your streak restarts. Your progress stays.

Count the days without alcohol, nicotine, scrolling or whatever you’re stopping, and the money you keep. Slipped? Log it: your streak starts again, and every day you earned stays.

Free core forever. One optional purchase, 14.99 USD once. No ads. No account. Your data stays on your phone.

We’ll only email you about Stillcount’s launch and beta: five short emails at most, the last one on December 31. Unsubscribe in one tap. Launching late December on iPhone and Android, in time for January 1.

Built by one developer who wanted a counter that is honest about slips and about price.

Slips are counted. Your history stays.

Slipped on day 23? Log it in about ten seconds, backdated if you need to. Your current streak starts again. Your total days, your longest streak, your slips and your full history stay on screen. Progress is a line, not a switch.

Free where it matters.

The counter, every core number, slip logging, history, export and milestones are free forever, with no ads and no trial that turns into a charge. Home-screen and lock-screen widgets are on the free list too, arriving in the January update.

Yours, on your phone.

No account, no ads, no tracking code. Your days live on your device, not on a server. Export everything as CSV or JSON at any time, delete it all in one step, and lock the app with Face ID or your fingerprint.

How it works

  1. Set your start.

Today, the day you really stopped, or a day ahead: tomorrow morning, next Monday or the 1st. Add what a usual week of it cost you if you want the money maths. It takes under a minute.

  2. Watch your numbers.

Current streak, total days, your share of days without it in the last 30, your longest streak, money not spent and how much you didn’t use. Pick the one that helps you as your main number.

  3. Log the hard days too.

If you slip, log it. Your streak restarts, your progress stays, and you choose when to start fresh: right after the slip, now, tomorrow morning, Monday or the 1st.

Free forever.

These stay free and will never move behind a payment:

  • One habit of your choice, with the counter and all core numbers
  • Reminders and milestone notifications
  • Daily note
  • Slip logging and your full history
  • Calendar back-fill and edits
  • Urge SOS
  • Your reasons list
  • Milestones
  • Share card
  • Export and import
  • App lock
  • Get help
  • Home-screen and lock-screen widgets (arriving in the January update)
  • Neutral app icon (arriving in the January update)

No ads. No account. No trial that turns into a charge. Your data stays on your phone.

This list is the same in the app and on this page. The app store descriptions list the items already in the current version. It can grow. It never shrinks.

14.99 once. The core is free forever.

  • Stillcount Plus is one optional purchase: 14.99 USD in the US, once. Your app store shows the price for your country.
  • At launch, Plus adds more habits, insights (slips by weekday, trigger tags, a monthly view) and themes. Planned for Plus in the January update: own rule mode for cutting back (a weekly limit, planned alcohol-free days, an event cap), a “Tonight’s plan” Live Activity on iPhone and extra app icons.
  • Plus owners get every future Plus feature at no extra cost.
  • No subscription. No weekly plan. No trial that turns into a charge. No ads, ever.
  • The price is on the first screen of the app, not after a quiz.
  • If the price ever changes, it changes for new buyers only and is announced here at least 14 days ahead. What you bought stays yours. Local prices in your currency can also move with exchange rates and taxes, which the app stores set.
  • If development ever stops, the app stays available and keeps working, because it runs entirely on your phone. Plus buyers keep everything they bought, and you can always export your data.

I’m one developer building the counter I wanted: honest about slips and about price. One drink shouldn’t wipe out weeks of effort, and counting days shouldn’t need a weekly subscription. You can follow the build at @stillcount.

Questions

Something else? Write to support@stillcount.app

Is it really free?

Yes. The counter, every core number, slips, history, reminders, export and milestones are free with no time limit and no ads. Widgets, also free, arrive in the January update. Stillcount Plus is optional: 14.99 USD in the US, once.

What can I count?

Alcohol, smoking, vaping, nicotine pouches, snus, cannabis, caffeine, energy drinks, soda, sweets, fast food, food delivery, scrolling and other screen habits, gaming, impulse buys, gambling, nail biting, skin picking, hair pulling and contacting an ex. Or name your own. One counter is always free; more counters come with Plus.

What happens when I slip?

You log it, in about ten seconds. Your current streak starts again. Your total days, your longest streak, your slip count and your history stay. You can edit or undo any entry.

Where is my data, and who can see it?

Only on your phone. There is no account and no server holding your days, so nobody else can see them, including me. Your phone’s own backup includes them, and you can export everything as CSV or JSON. If you delete the app without a backup or an export, the data is gone, so export first. This waitlist is the one place I hold anything: your email and your optional answers, stored in the EU and deleted when you unsubscribe.

Is this treatment or medical advice?

No, it’s a counter. If you drink heavily every day, talk to a doctor before you stop, because stopping suddenly can be dangerous. If you need someone now, stillcount.app/help lists helplines for several countries, or call your local emergency number.

When can I get it, and on which phones?

Late December 2026, on iPhone and Android. You can set January 1 as your start in advance. Testers get it from late November: tick the beta box when you sign up.

Why one price and not a subscription?

A counter that runs on your phone costs me no servers, so a subscription would only be a way to charge you again. Plus will not become a subscription. If the price changes, it changes for new buyers only, and what you bought stays yours.

Is it for quitting or for cutting back?

Both. You decide what counts, for example “no coffee after noon”, and the share of days without it shows progress even if you are not stopping completely. Own rule mode for cutting back on alcohol (a weekly limit, planned alcohol-free days) is planned for Plus in the January update.

Does it have widgets?

Yes, from the January update: home-screen and lock-screen widgets, free like the counter, and a neutral grey app icon for a home screen that doesn’t say what you’re counting. The first version focuses on the counter, slips and history so they are solid on day 1.
